Members will be interested to know that the University Of Leicester’s Department of Archaeology and Ancient History is again this year conducting an Excavation at the Iron Age Hill Fort located at Burrough Hill, Leicestershire.
An invitation has been extended to the society for any members who would like to visit and a group visit has been arranged for Monday 9th July. Anyone interested should assemble in the Burrough Hill Car Park at 12.30 pm in time for the tour to begin at 1 pm. Please notify the secretary if you are intending to join the group.
For those who cannot join the private visit there is a Public Open Day on Sunday 1st July from 10 am. Visitors will be able to take a Guided Tour of the Excavations; View the Display of This Years Finds; Meet and Iron Age Warrior; Make an Iron Age Coin and Learn About Life in a Round House.
