Closing date for bookings: Saturday 26th May.

Depart from Little Morton Hall at 5:00 pm. Arrive at Melton Mowbray at approx. 7.00 pm.
We will travel on an executive coach. The Anderton Boat Lift transfers canal boats between the Weaver Navigation and the Trent and Mersey Canal through a 15-metre difference in water level. It opened in 1875 and was converted from hydraulic to electric power in 1904. On arrival, we will go to the Visitors Centre for refreshments and to view exhibits. At 11.15 am, we will assemble at the lift for a group photograph before boarding the Edwin Clark. When we arrive at the Weaver Navigation, we will embark on a 40-minute river trip. At 1:15 pm, we will board our coach for the short journey to Little Moreton Hall – one of the finest examples of a timber-framed, moated Tudor manor house in England. The hall gives you a fascinating insight into the Moreton family, the period in which it was built and what life may have been like over 500 years ago. Free standard guided tours will be operating throughout the day. We will board the coach at 5:00 pm for the return journey to Melton.
Note: The cost for Society and NT members is £31.00 (£41.00 for non-NT members) per person and includes coach travel, parking and gratuities. Spare places may be offered to non-Society members who will be charged an additional £3 to secure temporary membership.
Departure and arrival will be from the Melton Mowbray Indoor Bowls Club or Wilton Road if requested.
