Blenheim Palace is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. There are over 100 acres of Formal Gardens, comprising the Italian Garden, the Secret Garden, the Water Terraces, the Rose Garden Arboretum and the Cascade, as well as the Pleasure Gardens, reached by a miniature train from the Palace, which include the Butterfly House, the Lavender Garden, the Marlborough Maze and the ‘Blenheim Bygones’ Exhibition. The whole is set in 2000 acres of parkland landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown. There are several food outlets, including The Water Terrace Café, a licensed self-service café situated within the heart of the Palace, which offers seasonal hot dishes, soup, salads, sandwiches and a range of homemade cakes.
