In the morning relive the atmosphere of a World War Two bomber airfield at the Lincolnshire Avition Heritage Museum near Spilsby. See one of only three working Lancaster bombers worldwide. There is not a wide choice of food outlets on this outing but hot and cold meals are available in the NAAFI. Please indicate on the form if you intend to buy a meal.

We should also have time to visit the neighbouring Holy Trinity Church with its fine medieval stained-glass windows. Light refreshments will be available at the Church.

DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL WILL BE FROM/AT THE MELTON & DISTRICT INDOOR BOWLS CLUB, LEICESTER ROAD, MELTON MOWBRAY (NEAR B&Q DIY STORE). PLEASE INDICATE ON BOOKING FORM IF YOU REQUIRE PICK UP FROM WILTON ROAD CAR PARK.
Cost: £18.50 per person (£13.50 for NT members)
Includes coach travel, parking, gratuity to driver and access to Aviation Heritage Centre and Tattershall Castle.
Non-Society members will be charged an additional £1 to secure temporary membership of the Society.
Booking Instructions: To reserve a place on the outing please return the completed booking form to the organizer with the full amount payable – cheques made out to the Melton Mowbray & District Historical Society – by 27th June. Please enclose a stamp addressed envelope or an e-mail address so that receipt of your reservation may be acknowledged. Payments for reservations cancelled within 2 weeks of the outing may be partially refunded provided entrance tickets have not been purchased. NT members will be required to produce their membership cards.
