Visit to Shugborough Historic Estate (NT property)

Shugborough Hall is the ancestral home of the Earls of Lichfield. We will have access to the Mansion House, County Museum, Servants’ Quarters, Formal Gardens, Walled Garden, Craft Workshops, Georgian Farm and Patrick Lichfield’s Private Apartments. In addition, there will be an Exhibition of Patrick Lichfield’s Photographs and other features for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. A licensed tea-room serves homemade, locally-sourced food but there are several dedicated picnic areas.

Depart Melton Mowbray at 9.00 am. Arrive Shugborough Estate at approx. 11.00 am
Depart Shugborough Estate at 5.00 pm. Arrive Melton Mowbray at approx. 7.00 pm.

DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL WILL BE FROM/AT THE MELTON & DISTRICT INDOOR BOWLS CLUB, LEICESTER ROAD, MELTON MOWBRAY (NEAR B&Q DIY STORE). PLEASE INDICATE ON BOOKING FORM IF YOU REQUIRE PICK UP FROM WILTON ROAD CAR PARK

Cost: £21.50 per person (£17 for NT members)
Includes coach travel, parking, gratuity to driver and access to Shugborough Hall estate.
Non-Society members will be charged an additional £1 to secure temporary membership of the Society.

Booking instructions: To reserve a place on the outing please return the completed booking form to the organizer with the full amount payable – cheques made out to the Melton Mowbray & District Historical Society – by 26th May. Please enclose a stamp addressed envelope or an e-mail address so that receipt of your reservation may be acknowledged. Payments for reservations cancelled within 2 weeks of the outing may be partially refunded provided entrance tickets have not been purchased. NT members will be required to produce their membership cards.
