Reprint (publishers) – The Story of Melton Mowbray

I have been researching Melton Mowbray history and have obtained a reprint of  The Story of Melton Mowbray by the late Philip E Hunt (pictured left) which I thought other members would find of interest. Philip was a member of the society and an esteemed amateur historian.

The book has been reprinted by the aptly named Reprint – Local history publishers in Loughborough, Leicestershire. From their website,

“This reprint containing 150 pages includes many alterations that the late Mr Hunt made as side notes in the last edition and contains all photographs and maps that were used in the very first print run in 1957.

May I thank Mr Hunt’s family for permission to reprint this most worthy publication. I am sure it will never be equalled.”

They have also reprinted another of Philip’s books, Ladies of Melton Mowbray’s History

David, The MM&DHS does not itself hold any information of this sort, may I suggest that the Melton Mowbray Carnegie Museum or the Leicester Record Office as a possible source for this type of information.
